DC Motor Speed Control using Chopper Circuit

Adjust the Duty Cycle slider to observe how PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) affects the average output voltage and motor speed.

Parameters & Calculations

Avg Output Voltage (Va)110 V
Back EMF (Eb)0 V
Armature Current (Ia)0 A

Step-by-Step Mathematical Derivation

1. Average Armature Voltage (Va):
Va = δ × Vs
Va = 0.5 × 220 = 110 V
2. Steady State Angular Speed (ω):
Using formula: ω = [Va - (TL·Ra/K)] / [K + (B·Ra/K)]
ω = [110 - (1.0 · 1.8 / 1.1)] / [1.1 + (0.15 · 1.8 / 1.1)]
ω = [110 - 1.63] / [1.1 + 0.245]
ω = 80.57 rad/s
3. Convert to RPM:
N = (ω × 60) / 2π
N = (80.57 × 60) / 6.28 = 769 RPM
